Timmie
Dohn Timmie has been involved in dog sports for over six years. Each of her dogs has a very different learning ability and approach to dog sports. This has encouraged Timmie to develop a variety of training and problem solving techniques. Since starting on the competitive disc circuit, Timmie and her dogs have achieved some formidable milestones! In 2006, Timmie placed First and Second in the Canadian Skyhoundz Nationals with Dakota and Shenzi. Timmie and her dogs went on to compete at the World Championship. In 2007, Timmie and her dogs qualified for and attended both the USDDN and Skyhoundz Worlds in Louisville, KY and Atlanta, GA. She and Dakota placed 10th overall at the Skyhoundz Worlds. Timmie has attended seminars in Toronto, Ottawa, Purling and Binghampton, NY in order to continue to develop her skills in the sport of Disc. She has learned new throws, tricks and many great tips for choreographing winning Freestyle Disc techniques, all of which she eagerly shares with her students. Timmie and her dogs hold many records in the Canadian Disc Dog Association in both Freestyle and Distance / Accuracy. Dakota was the first dog to achieve all nine CDDA titles. Timmie is also an accomplished Agility competitor. She and Dakota have won Regionals and placed as high as 8th at the AAC Nationals. Dakota holds his ATChC title and Bronze award. Timmie strives to teach all dogs based on their unique skills and individual personalities. Timmie takes the time to get to know each handler/dog team in her class, learn their strengths and likes and incorporate their abilities into a great performance. Timmie believes that the most important part of dog sports is that the dog and their handler have fun! Timmie
