Joy Brunton
Owner, Senior Instructor

Joy has been training and competing in dog sports for over 25 years.  Starting out in obedience and conformation as a young teenager, she quickly embraced agility and flyball in the mid 1980’s when they first appeared in British Columbia where she lived at the time. Joy was a founding member of both Dogwood Pacesetters and Matsqui Flyball and Agility Clubs in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia.

Joy has owned and trained Siberian Huskies, Whippets and now Border Collies and therefore has an understanding of the variety of training methods necessary to adapt to different breed idiosyncrasies.

Today, Joy trains and competes in Agility, Flyball and Disc.  She has been teaching agility to others since 2004 and flyball since she introduced the sport to Ottawa in 1998.

Joy believes that in order to be an effective dog and handler trainer, you must be able to adapt your methods to fit the team you are working with.  Training must be flexible enough to help students reach their goals.

Joy currently shares her home with her two Border Collies, Chime and REM.
