Elise
Bonder Instructor
After a decade of
teaching in an aquatic environment and training new instructors, Elise
needed a new challenge and jumped with both feet into the world of dog
sports. The methodologies of teaching and lesson planning translated
over beautifully and made teaching dogs and their guardians a snap.
She began training and competing in flyball and disc with her Belgian
Malinois and later continued with agility, rally-o and skijoring. This
intense focused dog taught her to come up with a detailed training plan
before setting foot in a training ring. She later adopted a deaf
Australian Cattle Dog who has taken very well to disc, flyball and
canicrossing. This dog has forced her to adapt teaching techniques
using American Sign Language and shown her first hand the importance of
focus work throughout a dog's life.
Elise aims to make guardians exited about the daily small successes that
lead to a bigger goal.
Elise shares her life with Emily (Belgian Malinois) and Whisper
(Australian Cattle Dog)
